ON THE ADVISORY OPINION OF THE INTERNATIONAL COURT OF JUSTICE REGARDING ISRAEL’S OBLIGATIONS IN RELATION TO THE UNITED NATIONS, OTHER INTERNATIONAL ORGANISATIONS, AND THIRD STATES IN THE OCCUPIED PALESTINIAN TERRITORY

ICJ: Israel’s Attacks on UNRWA Are Unlawful Under International Law

Following Israel’s systematic targeting of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) through unfounded allegations and the obstruction of its humanitarian operations, actions resulting in grave humanitarian consequences for the Palestinian people, the International Court of Justice (ICJ), upon the request of the UN General Assembly, has issued its Advisory Opinion.

The Worldwide Lawyers Association (WOLAS) calls for the immediate implementation of the Court’s findings and the unconditional restoration of UNRWA’s mandate and operations. We further underscore that this Opinion must be transformed into a justice-oriented roadmap for the Palestinian struggle for liberation and for the decolonisation of international law.
